Help me Obi Wan Kenobi

Okay, I have a task for ya'll. Ugh - Britney Spears has totally ruined that word for me. I have a task for all of you. (that soooo does *not* roll off the tongue) What is the single best time saving, how have I ever lived without it, OMG I don't care how much it cost it was worth it, item that will help in the cleaning of my house you have and will sing the praises of?

Maid service does not count because Maryland charges three times as much as Florida for the exact same service. I cannot. It's just wrong. Wrong!

I started Motivated Moms yesterday, but amazingly - my house did not clean itself. Now that I know *what* I should do, I need some help in actually *doing* it. So think of the single best cleaning item you own and hurry! (I think the dust bunnies are planning a coup)

Swivel Sweeper (can I get an amen tot hat ladies?) and a pack of microfiber cleaning cloths from BJs.

Oh, and Motivated Moms REALLY was the best $8 of spent in a long time... not so overwhelming when you check of two or three things a day. Although, certain chores - like mopping - ALWAYS seem to go undone for far too long. I laugh when people tell me it looks like they could eat off the floor. Um, no... really, looks can be deceiving... don't eat off my floor, please! Speaking of - better get off the computer and clean the stupid floor!

PS: You can get a swivel sweeper at Bed Bath and Beyond... and I have a 20% off coupon you can have when you go to buy it ;)

Let me try this again without as many typos:

I have 2 things:

1. Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower Cleaner. It really, really works. You will NEVER scrub your shower and/or bathtub again.

2. Kaboom Never Scrub continuous cleaning system. This is not like other inserts (thinking of those that turn your water blue). I swear, it works and don't harm any part of your toilet.

1.Swivel sweeper
2. Windex and paper towels on every level of your home
3. Your children (seriously--I think it's so good for them to help and even at DP's and FG's ages, they can help meaningfully.)

P.S. And even if it is expensive, in my OCD world, a maid is CRUCIAL. True, she doesn't clean as well as I do (c'mon, who but Monica could do that?), but just having her prevents me from obsessing daily. And you know me, I mean obsessing. Tim considers the maid a mental health expense, not a luxury item. I agree--but if only we could use those pretax healthcare dollars on her. Hmmm. . . .

Anybody tried Roomba? Your thoughts?

my sister-in-law has a roomba (I think) - maybe she will comment here and let us know about it.

Hi. I'm the SIL and I like the Roomba. I LOVED it when we forst got it. Set it and forget it. It even entertained the wee one (OK, and me and the husband as well). It cleans pretty well, goes under the beds (!) and is convenient; however, nothing cleans better then my Dyson. I like my Roomba, but I can't live without my Dyson!

I wonder how well the Scooba works - that one MOPS floors.

I also like Swiffer dusters - one for me, one for the wee one and the dusting is done in no time. A lot of waste, though. When my supply runs out I'll probably buy a couple of microfiber dusters (use, use, use, wash, use, use, use..)

I love my steam Vac. I don't remember your floors but as for me, I have carpet under where my kitchen table and cleaning the carpet is a must. It takes up all the stains and makes things look brand new.

Does a Mother-in-law count? I didn't purchase her but if marrying her son wasn't an investment... I don't know what is! Oh yeah, I love my Dyson.

Come over to the dark side, my little padewan. Really, how can one clean a house without a 16 gallon wet/dry shop vac? Sucks up 10-penny nails as though they were wimpy little dust bunnies.

And everyone knows how *clean* my house is...
